The Volkswagen Touran was designed to fill a gap in VW’s lineup in the form of a compact SUV. Smaller than the Tiguan but with seven seats, it is a popular car in Japan due to its carrying capacity in a body that fits into small spaces.

The rear (third) row of seats folds flat enabling its use as a regular estate and when you need to fit in more gear the middle row collapse into the footwell behind the front seats or can be removed completely. It’s a very clever piece of design, engineered around VW’s 2.0 litre FSi engine and provides a fast, comfortable ride.

In addition to the main features there are other nice touches such as a host of small storage compartments, strong fold-down tables on the backs of the front seats and drink holders.

This one is a 2006 model in black pearl metallic. It has only travelled 56,702 miles and has clearly been looked after. In Japan, not many people put a lot of miles on their vehicles. They tend to keep them looking very nice and this one is no exception.
