One of the things that always struck me when I lived in Japan was the way they advertise cars. In Britain, car commercials are all about selling a lifestyle. The message is, “Buy this car and you too will be able to drive down this beautiful country lane/cool urban street with this handsome man/beautiful woman/multiracial group of friends on sunny days.” In Japan they focus much more on functionality – the space, the safety features, the whizzy technology. It’s less about creating a new life but optimising the one you have.

It is no surprise, then, that Japan has for many years been a world leader in innovations in automotive technology. They were putting rain activated windscreen wipers on cars back in the days when we still thought electric windows were pretty amazing. The focus has always on improving the enjoyment and practicality of the vehicle and the Nissan Serena is an excellent example of this.

Despite being a good-sized eight-seater, from the driver’s seat it feels no different to driving a much smaller car. In particular, the bonnet is short making it easy to manoeuvre in Japan’s tight streets – and Britain’s uncomfortably small parking spaces.

Inside, space is maximised. The automatic gear lever is in the steering column and the seats have various configurations depending on how you want to use them. The seat of the rear bench folds up enabling you to push the rear row to the back of the middle row, thus creating acres more boot space. But most brilliantly of all, the middle row of seats can be removed and replaced facing backwards so all six passengers can face each other.

This one is a 2003 model in white with the rare dark grey and camel colour interior. Both inside and out it is in lovely condition. It comes with a host of small storage compartments and cupholders, and reversing mirror.

 Other features include:-

·       Conference seating mode

·       Climate control

·       Retractable wing mirrors

·       Collapsible rear bench seat

·       Column shift automatic gears

·       Privacy glass

·       Alloy wheels

·       Side skirts

·       Wind deflectors

We’d be delighted to show you this fantastic car. It will be sold with 12 months MOT, 12 months warranty, valet, service and wax oil all included in the price. It is already registered for use in the UK.
